    What to Expect in Therapy

    Beginning therapy for the first time is a very brave and vulnerable experience. I aim to help my clients feel heard, seen, and valued. I'm here to listen to your struggles and congratulate your wins. I will hold you accountable with grace and utilize creative modalities to help guide you back to believing in yourself. My hope for my clients is, that after doing deep work, they walk away with a new sense of freedom and empowerment to live their best lives.

    What does the therapeutic treatment process look like?

    The initial session will focus on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship; I want you to feel comfortable, seen, and valued. I also want to get to know your story and hear what brought you to therapy. I encourage clients to prioritize what they would like to work on first. We establish therapeutic goals together early on in the treatment process. As we continue to work together, we reflect on those goals to maximize the client's experience, track progress and growth, and adjust goals as needed.

    What does trauma healing entail?

    Many of us suffer from triggers and deep-rooted beliefs informed by trauma. Our bodies hold on to the pain, fear, and heartbreak, in an effort to protect us from feeling that way again. I help my clients recognize that, due to previous experiences, they may have learned defense mechanisms to keep themselves safe. Once they understand that they are reacting this way because their bodies adapted to their specific life circumstances, they are free to choose how they want to respond when triggered again. Clients are then empowered to create new coping mechanisms that enable them to lead positive and productive lives.
